Born Again? - John 3

[Jesus said,] "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

There would be few people today who do NOT know or have heard the above verse. But how many have in fact read and understood that WHOLE teaching of Jesus? You see, our salvation hinges on what Jesus said. So many people today, within the church, say, "Oh, of course I believe in Jesus!" But can they say that their life, their life-style their whole way of thinking, their attitudes and mindsets, behaviors have been TRANSFORMED by this "belief in Jesus"?

You see, going back to Jesus words in V.3 He clearly says, "I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God!" and in V.5 He REPEATS His statement, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the spirit, HE CANNOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD!" Reading on we hear Jesus say, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world by Him may be saved. He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." You see, you have a car in the garage, but unless you use it, one day you will get into it and it won't go, through neglect. Unless you walk out your belief, in your actions, words, thoughts, it is dead and of no value to you. Scripture is clear that we must "...not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION. Old things have passed away, behold, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW."(2 Cor.5:17) Has your HEART been changed? - for from IT spring the issues of life! (See Prov.4:23) Paul, in Romans 6, clearly says that we are to stop living a sinful life! Read chapter 6 of Romans, and see the warning in v.23, "For THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal life IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD!" We cannot escape this warning by claiming that it is pointed at "unbelievers" because he does not say that....he is talking to the church in Rome and talking to those who claim to be Believers. Paul, also in Col.3 clearly speaks to us, "IF then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on the things on the earth. For you DIED, and your life is hidden with Christ in God!"......or IS IT?

Have you had a spiritual revelation of Jesus? Do you KNOW Him? Do you talk to Him? Is your belief REAL? - or is it only "head knowledge", not HEART KNOWLEDGE? Have you truly laid your all at the cross of Calvary, including your LIFE? IS your life hidden with Christ in God, or are you still living like the world and seeking the things of this world? Is your life controlled by fear rather than faith, because you have no relationship with Him to sustain you and to guard your heart with the peace of God That surpasses all understanding? Do you hunger and thirst after righteousness, and feast on the Word of God that is the lamp to your feet and the light to your pathway?....or do you listen to man and follow what HE says? Do you know and hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit GUIDING your life? ARE you led by Him or by your soulish "self"?

Today, at the beginning of this new year, go before the throne of grace and mercy and seek Him with ALL your heart, for He WILL be found by you, if you will. Confess your sins to Him, for He is faithful and just to forgive you your sins and to cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness. He is FULL of mercy and longs for you to come to HIM and live under the shadow of The Almighty! Do not wait for the Day of is too late then, and you do not even know that you have tomorrow! Seek Him while He may be found! Trust in Him with all your heart, and follow Jesus Christ! Your cup of peace and joy will overflow.
